LESSON 1
The climatic evolution of planet Earth: the general characteristics of the climate system, the main natural archives as well as the tracers (abiotic and biotic) for the reconstruction of the paleoclimate will be analysed.
Focus on the most important climatic events in the Earth's climatic history: PETM (Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum) e_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5-cf58d_Oi.

The ice ages that characterized the climate and environment of the Quaternary.
 
LESSON 2
How did we arrive today to have the typical Anthropocene climate? Analysis of the predisposing and triggering causes of the current climate change.
Extreme weather events: randomness or periodic expression of changing climate?

The treaties between States and the climate conferences: focus on COP27 of Sharm El Sheikh.
IPCC Outlook for the future: what will the climate be like in 2100?
 
LESSON 3
What are the virtuous_actions that we can take to mitigate climate change?
The Glac-UP  project is the concrete possibility we have of preserving and carefully guarding the Alpine glaciers, with a view to guaranteeing future generations the conditions in which we live today.
Sustainability in a new meaning: from an abstract concept to a virtuous reality to achieve the objectives of Agenda 2030.
