SC Johnson is partner of the project “Glac-UPxStelvio”, and actively contributes to the removal from the glacier “Piana Vedretta” (Stelvio Pass) of materials abandoned over the decades by the passage of man.
COLLABORATION
1. AWARENESS RAISING
By involving your employees in a cycle of workshops – held in collaboration with the scientific partners of Glac-UP – on the topics of:

Climate change and its impact on Alpine glaciers;

Plastic contamination in mountain and glacial ecosystems.
2. CLEAN-UP EXCURSIONS ON THE GLACIER
Involving some of its employees in clean-up excursions on the glacier in summer 2023.
The operations will take place with the help of the local sections of mountaineering associations and with the support of the ski facilities on site.
3. PROMOTION OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
By promoting thes cientific research on the nature of macro-plastics by a polymer analysis and on the amount of microplastics present on the glacier by sampling supra-glacial sediments.
The goal of such operations is to increase knowledge about the pollutants present on the glacier and trace its presence.
